More Idol Fallout

*Spoiler Alert*

After the shocking American Idol elimination of Michael Johns two weeks ago, you would think the Idol execs would be done breaking their viewers' hearts. But alas, this is not the case. Sadly Irish charmer Carly Smithson was eliminated. To make matters worse, Syesha Mercado was the other contestant in the bottom two, while somehow Jason Castro & Brooke White (easily the weakest two contestants) managed to remain safe. This either proves that Americans are deaf, off their rocker or voting for personality/looks--or, the just as likely reasoning, that Idol is rigged.

If MJ's elimination wasn't enough, now Idol has truly lost some fans and viewers with Carly's departure. I would claim that her elimination is even more unexpected. Fortunately, there is a good aspect to all of this. David Cook will most likely benefit as he is the only worthwhile contestant left for MJ & Carly fans. Here's to hoping for a David-vs.-David finale.

Ok, the rant is over...for now. ;-)

Oh my word, Becky, I am SO glad you posted this. I know every season has a shocking elimination. Like when Daughtry went home, or when Melinda was voted off. But that doesn't mean it still doesn't sting!

I am very upset...
