The right David wins

Without a doubt, tonight was definitely the best American Idol finale with amazing performances by the Top 12 (Carly Smithson and Michael Johns' duet of "The Letter" rocked), fantastic celebrity guests (everyone from Seal, Donna Summers, and ZZ Top to One Republic, Bryan Adams and George Michael), and a lastly, an entirely deserving winner (by more than 12 million flippin' votes). After 97 million votes were cast, America chose it's newest Idol, and the winner is...David "Sugarfoot" Cook! And yes, that is a ridiculus nickname--blame the producers for that. ;-)
